On our second day in Jaipur, we drove an hour and a half outside the city, to visit a rural village. We passed farm land. The roads at times were not paved. If they were paved, it was one lane with dirt on either side for when cars passed. Even the paving at times was bumpy.

Words will follow the pictures. I spoke with the weavers, many of whom were husband and wife teams. My first take-away from the village was that of happy people. Many had been weaving for over 30 years. A few women said they started weaving because they saw a husband, a father or a brother weaving. They said that the beauty of the weaving was something they wanted to do.
